Description

Managing employees is a critical part of running a business. In this session learn about (1) an alternative business model which may assist in alleviating some of the pains small businesses face when managing employees and (2) general best practices in managing human resources.

The first part of the session will introduce you to the PEO—Professional Employer Organization—business model. Common in certain states, PEO’s are a radical alternative to managing your own HR, payroll and employee benefits by delegating all these functions to a different company.

The second part of this session will provide practical and actionable tips and information on all aspects of the “people cycle, “ including best practice advice in the areas of recruitment and interviewing, hiring and orienting new employees, performance management and discipline, termination and compliance assurance. The session will also touch on high performance companies – what it means to become one, how high performance boosts a business’s bottom line, and how to work towards achieving a high performing workforce.
